Photo Voltaic Generation
Photovoltaics, or PV for short, is a technology that uses solar cells to convert solar energy into electricity. Photovoltaics is the field of study relating to this technology.
PV is a 'green' technology - unlike fossil fuel-based technologies, photovoltaic power does generate harmful emissions while producing electricity, but the production of the hardware can lead to some pollution.
